Capability Development
Building a credible project management capability is
becoming increasingly important as businesses are moving
towards a ‘project organisation’ model.
Unfortunately, standard, ‘off-the-shelf’
project management training packages often fail to deliver
the anticipated benefits. PM Capability Development
needs to be structured around providing the insights,
tools, techniques and case studies that provide the
‘know-how’, but more importantly, it must
also include practical and powerful coaching, mentoring
and delivery methods.
PIPC aims to transfer knowledge to client teams on
all engagements as part of the consulting ‘value-add’
proposition. However, in many situations a concerted,
focused programme is required to instill these techniques
into new or expanding teams to provide enduring benefit.
The business case supporting these engagements is compelling
– with tangible improvements in project execution
quality driving greater benefits with reduced overruns/overspend,
and a reduced reliance on external resource to deliver
change in future. PIPC has successfully delivered Capability
Development engagements with AMP, Barclays, BNP Paribas,
DBS Bank, SEB Asset Management and Willis.
